Overview

This is a new three-volume color set entitled BALTIC SEA CRUISES. To provide you with more complete information, maps and photos in an expanded format, I have divided the Baltic Sea into three distinct areas. The first book provides you with a geographic and historic sketch of the region. You are then taken on a virtual cruise through the Kiel Canal into the Baltic Sea. You will visit Copenhagen, Bornholm Island, Malmo, Borgholm, Visby, Stockholm, Uppsala and Helsinki. In the second book you will also have a brief introduction to Baltic Sea geography and history. Then you will have a great virtual visit to Saint Petersburg, followed by Tallinn, Riga, Klaipeda, Gdansk and Warnemunde with a day trip to Berlin. In the third book you will travel around the Gulf of Bothnia. Few cruise ships make this journey, but for those of my readers who might be on such a cruise, I have provided detailed information. Each volume is sold separately in paperback and Kindle format. The books are 8.5 by 11 inches in size to give you good visual presentation.The Baltic Sea region is one of the most popular cruise destinations. This is a very historic and scenic part of Europe. It is very green, cool in summer, rich in Viking and medieval history. And the crown jewel of any Baltic cruise is a visit to Saint Petersburg, the former Imperial capital of Russia under the tsars. Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki are three of Europe's gems when it comes to their visual qualities, rich histories and their cleanliness. They provide for great sightseeing, dining and shopping. And when you visit Saint Petersburg, you will essentially find that a two to three day visit will only scratch the surface of this fabled city. It is the star attraction, and for most of you it becomes your introduction to Russia - the world's largest country.My books limit themselves to providing you with choice sightseeing venues and dining experiences. I have not given you an overload of low end dining establishments or bored you with meaningless sights to see. I have provided the top venues and restaurants to give you the ultimate experience. And I also provide you with alternatives to the sometimes mundane or boring group tours provided by the cruise lines. So if you seek a significant degree of adventure and independence, you will find it in my three volumes.
