Author Information

About the Author Victoria A. Lowell-Dansby discovered early on that to be a dancer educator meant a life-long commitment to a discipline, a codified language, a life-style, and to a state-of-mind. She has in turn discovered this commitment, this dedication, has given her a life-time of enlightenment, and fulfillment. She is continually seeking new ways to enhance pedagogical methodologies for the enhancement of the learner's execution, comprehension, acquisition, and appreciation of dance. As an educator she enters the learning space seeking innovative approaches to instruction. She often turns to humor as she believes we must all learn to laugh at ourselves before it is possible to open ones self to new information and new ways of knowing and doing. She currently holds a Ph. D. in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. She received her Masters degree in Technical Theater/Dance from California State University, Fullerton, and her Bachelors of Arts in Dance from the University of California at Riverside.
