This is a personal memoir about growing up and my career of forty-seven years in banking. Growing up will take you back to the fifties and sixties. The banking material is humorous. It is entertaining for the reader with some anecdotes about my work within the UK and Canada, and internationally in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia.

I grew up in Britain, joined Lloyd's Bank there in 1966 and was hired by Scotiabank In Canada in 1970, where I was employed for some forty-two years with operation support assignments in branches and a regional office, and a two-year assignment in branch managership. I then joined the international section of Scotiabank, assigned to computerizing the trust companies and branches, installing mid-range computer systems and insurance businesses, and installing the original computer systems in Asia, followed by an upgrade activity eighteen years later. Amongst other assignments I was part of a due-diligence team on many occasions to look at operations and automation of prospective acquisitions abroad.
