Overview"Hardcore, like punk before it, has become a global phenomenon, with regional scenes popping up across the globe. ""Balance"" opens the doors of the bars and clubs that stage Europe's hardcore bands. The book features striking photography of shows as well as portraits of the scenes primary instigators working their day jobs. Alongside these images, the authors provide insights into the informal rules and agreements that give order to the international movement for instance, bands must speak only English once they're on stage, allowing readers an insider's perspective on a music scene that has gone under-documented up to this point. ""Balance"" shows how these musicians have committed themselves to a lifestyle that might not pay the bills, but it feeds the soul, inspiring a sense of community that knows no national boundaries."
