Overview

The Baha'i Writings state that the education and training of children is among the most meritorious acts of humankind. Filled with fun, hands-on, kid-tested learning activities, this theme book is the fourth in a series of easy-to-use teacher's guides designed for Baha'i children's classes. Inside you will find a treasure trove of ideas for Baha'i summer and winter schools, Holy Day programs, academic classrooms, home schoolers and weekend retreats. The book has four sections: * The Birth of Baha'u'llah, His Early Life and Station * Declaration of Baha'u'llah * Exiles and Imprisonment * Clouds of Glory The index at the back of the book makes it easy to find exactly what you need. Author Information

Randie Gottlieb is the head of UnityWorks, an international diversity training firm; co-founder of the Mona Foundation, supporting grassroots educational development worldwide; and professor of multicultural education at Heritage University on the Yakama Nation Reservation. She earned degrees from Cal State, Boston University and Harvard. The author of eight books and a frequent speaker, Dr. Gottlieb has worked as a school principal, college administrator and curriculum developer, and has served as a teacher at every level-from pre-school through post-graduate. She has been organizing and teaching Baha'i children's classes for many years. Her work has taken her to over 30 countries, including 11 years in Puerto Rico, where she managed an international training center, and with her husband, founded a Baha'i-inspired elementary school. As a member of the Baha'i Faith since 1971, Randie has served her religious community in various capacities, including as a member of the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Puerto Rico, and the Regional Baha'i Council of the Northwestern States. --------------------------------------------- A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR: Thank you for visiting the site and for your mutual interest in providing spiritual education for children. It is hoped that these resources will serve to familiarize children with the basic Baha'i teachings, and increase their capacity to be of service to others, while at the same time making the teacher's job easier and more rewarding. I am profoundly grateful to my loving family without whose support this book would not have been possible.
