Janet is a Filipino American who has spent more than half her life as part of the US Navy. She grew up as a Navy ""Brat,"" was commissioned as a Naval Officer, and is a military spouse to a submariner. Writing a children's book had always been on her ""bucket list"" since college. It was in San Diego, California that Janet became friends with another military spouse, Katia. Katia's two cats, Bags and Willow, became the inspiration for this book. Janet's oldest child, Tim, acted as illustrator for ""The Adventure of Baggs."" While Katia is no longer able to enjoy the book, the book is dedicated in her memory.
