OverviewAttention: this book must look strange. It is a lomographic publication. Protect your parents from the sight! The Harz is generally considered to be backwoods and gloomy, the people closed and strange. Nothing is more suitable to challenge such prejudices than to roll through the fir thicket with a plastic camera from Lomography. The eyes of all the locals turn to you. When you look at the resulting photographs, the Harz mountains seem like a wonderland. Empty Coke bottles lie broken in the undergrowth, hotel lamps in false Art Nouveau style delight the heart, plastic flowers blossom in many places, and even cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest become visible, of which no one had any idea. Ghostly figures appear and from the house roofs it glitters promisingly. Even waste separation appears as promise: glass, metal and toilet paper. The bathroom appears like a minibar and metal towers loom against the sky. A park bench becomes a cultural event and forest dieback becomes romantic. All this makes lomographic photography possible. The lomographic diary presented here was photographed in October 2019. All images are unpublished. Rainer Strzolka does not despise digital photography. He simply ignores it.
