He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1985, and he received an additional Bachelor of Science in Human Anatomy from the National College of Chiropractic, Chicago, Illinois in 1987, where he also worked as a research scientist in the Spinal Ergonomics and Biomechanics Laboratory. He earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from the New York College of Chiropractic, Long Island, New York in 1990. In 1992, he became a chiropractic sports physician and earned Diplomate status in sports medicine from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. He is an expert in the field of sports science and spinal rehabilitation, and has been a strength and conditioning specialist certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 1986.Dr. Duke specializes in the treatment of soft tissue injuries caused by daily microtrauma and he was an educator on the revolutionary Active Release Technique (ART). He uses a variety of techniques and exercises in his evaluation and treatment process including instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation with the Graston Technique, neuromuscular re-education and therapeutic movement oriented exercises. His background with the Titleist Golf Performance Institute, in addition to his expertise in medicine, kinesiology and biomechanics, enables him to not only effectively treat his patients, but to also enhance their athletic performance.Current medical staff appointments and past experiences include: Team USA United States Olympic Committees National Medical Network Physician; chiropractic sports physician for a team of elite and professional runners, New York Road Runners; Physician Team Captain for the ING NYC Marathon and the NYC Triathlon since 1995; strength and conditioning coach for the Chicago Blackhawks NHL hockey team from 1986-1988; sports chiropractor at the United States Olympic Games of 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the United States Olympic Training Center (USOTC), in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1997; and chiropractic sports physician for the National and World Championships for Competitive Aerobics in 1995.
