Imagine a place where death is inevitable. Where hearing someone scream for help as they bleed out, likely cold and all alone, is commonplace. Chances are, you can't. But for the people at the Arena, this sorrow is all they will ever know. And that fate, all they will ever be destined for. After getting in some trouble, Soren is unable to prepare for the upcoming rounds of evaluations, a type of competition where trainees are required to prepare a song and perform it for a panel of alien judges. The trainees are graded, appointed a sum of points according to their performance, lyric composition, and vocal quality. The penalty for failure is death. Due to his temper and poor preparation, he is forced to rely on Isla, a girl he absolutely cannot stand, to succeed in the next round of evaluations. Will he succeed? Or will he come face-to-face with his own failure, and watch as Isla makes the ultimate sacrifice for his sake?
