Overview

In the deep, shadowed pine forest of Kelebija, where darkness dances between the trees, lives Baba Yaga - an unusual witch who has made her home far from humankind. Boredom weighs heavily on her days, and to amuse herself she devises wicked pranks for the travelers who pass through her forest almost daily. Every morning at precisely six o'clock, she stands outside the butcher's shop to buy smoked chicken feet - and those foolish enough to deny her this delicacy pay dearly. With a mere flick of her finger, she can bestow a dreadful wart upon their face, one that will linger for an entire month. When she rests on the wooden bench before her crooked hut, sipping Mera Luna - a blackberry wine ripened in the moonlight - she plots her next mischief. But her tedious solitude may soon come to an end. Her sisters, Roga and Jadwiga, have announced their visit. Meanwhile, the village boys who secretly creep around her hut can hardly contain their curiosity. Something is stirring in the forest. A dangerous game is about to begin - and the boys will soon discover whether their curiosity is worth the terrible trouble that awaits them.
