Are you a fan of sheep? Especially Valais Blacknose sheep? I'm glad you're reading this as you're most probably also interested in farming. We run a small organic farm on the sunny south-facing slopes of the Rhône valley and keep Blacknose and Roux-du-Valais sheep. The Valais Blacknose sheep - a piece of Valais tradition and certainly also a piece of Valais culture. This book tells the story of our daily life with the animals, and looks at their special features. You will discover this original breed and the last chapters of the book show how you can fall in love with these blacknoses in many ways. It also explains why and how blacknoses are kept today, what breeding is all about and what challenges shepherds have to deal with today and in the future.
