Gia Russell a self-taught artist, and Editor for Basilica Press, from humble beginnings, has dedicated her life to helping those in need, born and raised in an island; when arriving in N.Y. as a teen, she was unable to speak English, which made things very difficult for her, but she did not allow adversity to stop her from doing all of the things she had to do in order to make a better life for herself and her family. Life is not always what we want it to be, but we can color it any way we like, in order to make it the perfect painting, even when things look rough, there is someone out there who has it worse than us.
