Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor Information"I have enjoyed creative writing as a pastime for many years, and when my children were very young, I handwrote a short story about one of the main fictional characters ""Piggles"" who appears in this book. It was well received by my children, with a request for ""more"", and I made enquiries about the prospect of publishing it, to no avail. In the following years, I had creative writing tuition with the result that I then revised my original story, which had been written some twenty years earlier, and also wrote a whole series of stories around the same character. Fresh attempts to find a publisher were made, and in the year 2000, the first story of the series was successfully published. The publishing house ceased trading quite soon afterwards but no progress has since been made in publishing the rest of the series. However, having been involved in football since an early age as a fan, a competitive amateur player and as the manager of a boys' team, I couldn't fail to notice, especially in recent years, the explosive worldwide interest in the game now shown by both sexes of all ages. Therefore, I had the idea of writing a light-hearted fictional story about international animals playing football, including my character Piggles. Aimed at both the younger generation of reading age (5 years+) and those adults who may be assisting with their children's reading, the purpose of this book is to simultaneously develop reading, amuse and entertain."
