Overview

As a Shadow Warrior, Saaya is strong, skilled, and deadly. Her prowess has landed her at the side of her heart's desire, the Queen of Kamaria. It is Saaya's deepest wish to remain with her forever. But the time has come for the Queen to marry, and as monarch, the Queen must choose someone whose position will benefit the kingdom and whose parts will provide an heir. Saaya, as a born-female soldier, fits none of these requirements. The Queen is uninterested in any spouse that cannot give her the things she desires. Churak, the Prince of Siyama, does meet the Queen's requirements, which is why his father is trying to arrange their marriage. There's one problem: Churak does not want to marry her. Even so, he is sent to Kamaria in order to secure an alliance, though the Queen refuses to proceed with a wedding until his seed is proven viable within her. When Saaya and Churak's paths cross, the two hatch a plot to convince the Queen that she would make a better choice of spouse than he. A friendship based on common goals develops and as time goes on, it deepens into something more.
