O objetivo deste trabalho foi recolher amostras de grão-de-bico (Cicer arietinum) em supermercados de Lahore, no Paquistão, para detectar a carga microbiana presente nas amostras. Para esterilizar o grão-de-bico, foi administrada uma dose gama otimizada em 2 kGy. Os micróbios detectados nas amostras de grão-de-bico foram Bacillus subtillis, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pyogenes e Staphylococcus aureus, confirmados por tiras API.
