Overview

A freak late-season avalanche in Maine shouldn't be possible-until it is. When Dalton's Search & Rescue lead Jones Smith Jr. runs an avalanche safety training day up to a backcountry warming hut, he expects grumbling locals, beacon drills, and maybe a bruised ego or two. What he doesn't expect is getting trapped overnight with two men he can't stop thinking about: Red Watts, a calm, dryly funny solar-and-backup-power specialist in town to keep Dalton running, and Darwin Everheart, the town's awkwardly earnest ""moose guy"" who somehow makes fear feel survivable.
