ABOUT AUTOMATONS: In spite of Dramatic victories at Wolf 437, Epsilon Eridani and Eden, the Fendi persist, and maneuver on multiple fronts to get their ships into the inner solar system. There Karpov finds their attack is not aimed at Earth, but at Mars, and as many as 10,000 Fendi Automatons make assault landings on the Red planet. Now the Earthforce Saga returns to Mars as Earthforce faces an array of Fendi bipedal and quadrupedal soldiers, including heavy walkers and Mech Warriors. The Fleet musters Marines of its Assault carriers to join the Martian Marine Division on Mars, and the fighting is aimed at the long Marineris Valley and where Earthforce must screen and defend the many cities there. A convoy arrives from Earth with the American 1st Armored Division, and the Fendi soon learn that the Humans have automatons as well when troops of the M5-A7 tanks clash with the Fendi at Cydonia, Copernicus and eventually Marineris Valley. Then the isolated outpost of Night Camp suffers a surprise attack in Noctis Labyrinthus, and Commandant Troyak sends Zykov to lead the defense there, with a mission to find the hidden Fendi warren in the Labyrinth of Night.
