Authentic Horsemanship Why Authentic Horsemanship? If you are a horse owner, you have most likely attended many workshops, clinics and lessons. You likely have bookcases full of books that have been encouraging and helpful, and some that have been discouraging and maybe not even read. You've likely watched programs featuring a litany of trainers who all say they have the 'right way' to do things, always leaving you to wonder how you can learn this elusive 'right way.' Get out the checkbook. ""If I get his/her book, CD, special halter, etc, then I will be able to tap into this magic of rightness with my horse."" But it doesn't work for you. Perhaps you don't seem to have the magic touch. You ask yourself, why not? What's missing? Frustration sets in and you wonder if you should give up. Maybe you are like me, and you've had horses in your life from virtually your time of birth or from a very young age. You're an adult now and you deeply and sincerely want to figure out what you need to do to be a better horseman/woman because surely all of these 'famous' people know more about horsemanship than we do. Why else would they be famous, right?!? Maybe it's time to ask, what it is that our horse wants from us? I finally did just that, and it has led me to what I call Authentic Horsemanship. Join me.
