Overview

In den 1920er Jahren begann man auch diesseits des Ozeans damit, Boote vermehrt mit Motoren auszurusten. Viele Eigner, aber auch manche der zahlreichen Werften betraten damit Neuland. Sowohl die Auswahl der Motoren - es gab bereits Benzin- und Dieselmotoren mit hohen Reifegraden - als auch deren Einbau werden in diesem Grundlagenwerk beschrieben. Das gilt auch fur den damals noch regelmassig auftretenden und besonders anspruchsvollen Sachverhalt des Einbaus einer Maschine in ein Boot, das ohne Rucksicht hierauf konstruiert und gebaut wurde.
