Reviews

Auditory Communication for Deaf Children is an excellent book from start to finish...Practical suggestions are provided, such as how these children listen and learn, how common communication skills such as using the telephone and conversation management should be addressed, and how typical speech/language develops. All topics are presented in short, easy-to-understand segments. Charts, diagrams, and other graphic aids are ubiquitous, providing readers with how-to's at a glance. The book is an easy read, and will be a wonderful primary resource for those who want to adhere to this approach to teaching this population of children. Summing Up: Highly recommended. Lower-division undergraduates and above. - Reviewed by J. D. Neal, University of Central Missouri, in the September 2012 edition of CHOICE
