O presente trabalho discute o coeficiente de atrito apresentado pelo deslizamento de três tipos de solas de chuteiras de futebol contra três tipos de relva artificial. É investigado o efeito da carga aplicada no coeficiente de atrito estático apresentado pelas solas do calçado ao deslizar contra relva artificial. Os testes de atrito são realizados com cargas de 200 a 800 N em relva artificial seca e molhada. A relva artificial testada é feita de fibras de polietileno de diferentes intensidades, comprimentos e espessuras.
