Reviews

Reviews of the First and Second Editions: ""The Atlas of Small Animal Ultrasonography is an extremely useful resource for all levels of ultrasound experience, from just starting out to specialist level. The format is easy to read and the multiple image modalities allow comprehension of positioning and tips and tricks to improve ultrasound skills."" (Australian Veterinary Journal, 26 April 2017) ""This is one of the best books I have come across. The images and the schematics are top quality and there are multiple images from different angles. It reads as if the authors truly want to convey this information in a way to make readers competent at ultrasound. It should be required reading for every small animal veterinarian."" (Doody's, 8 January 2015) ""The numerous images clearly guide the practitioner in the anatomical darkness often seen by the novice. An investment you’ll always keep nearby your scanner."" (Tomorrow's vets, 1 September 2013) ""Equally the numerous images of pathological condition offer plenty of material for the more experienced practitioner."" (Irish Vet Journal, 14 April 2011) ""The atlas is designed to aid the veterinarian and student with performing complete ultrasound examinations of small animals and a reference for those more advanced ultrasonographic skills by providing excellent quality images of both normal and abnormal small animal anatomic features."" (Alnmag.com, 14 April 2011) ""This text is a very comprehensive compilation of ultrasound techniques and findings for each individual dog and cat organ. The book is easy and enjoyable to use. When reviewing this book, I was unable to think of a body part that was not included. The authors have found a way to evaluate every organ effectively with ultrasound. This book is appropriate for both the beginning and experienced ultrasonographer. It is the best teaching and reference guide I have seen for small animal ultrasound."" (Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, December 2010) ""The up-to-date references in the book will appeal to veterinary sonographers of all skill levels. The more commonly imaged areas, such as the liver, are particularly useful for novice to intermediate sonographers, and the chapters on the less commonly imaged areas, such as the musculoskeletal system, are very useful for more experienced sonographers. Overall, this is an excellent book and well worthwhile having in your professional library."" (Australian Veterinary Journal, November 2010) ""Provides excellent anatomical drawings showing where to place the transducer and, in some cases (e.g. the brain), the use of other imaging modalities such as MRI for comparison... the quality of images is generally excellent and they are printed at a size where abnormalities are clearly visible... has enough images to show the spectrum of the ultrasonographic abnormalities possible with each disease... more than succeeds at its aim of showing normal and abnormal anatomy with high quality images. The book would be of interest and suitable for anyone doing small animal ultrasound at any level."" (The Veterinary Journal, February 2009) ""College-level vet libraries as well as practicing vets and students need [this] visual guide to the use of diagnostic ultrasound in small animal practice. The most commonly performed ultrasound examinations are covered in chapters which cover techniques, diagnosis, and provides outstanding and numerous supporting ultrasound images to help teach readers diagnosis procedures. Very highly recommended: a specific, technical and essential volume for any vet involved in ultrasound diagnosis."" (Midwest Book Review, October 2008)
