Prof. Ajay Puri currently serves as the Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology and Professor & Head of Surgical Oncology at the Tata Memorial Centre. He has held esteemed positions including founder President of the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society, Past President of the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and past Chairman of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (Oncology). Prof. Puri is a member of the Global Steering Committee of the International Sarcoma Kindred Study (ISKS), the largest multi-institutional international trial aimed at understanding the genetic background of sarcomas. He has pioneered the development of a low-cost indigenous megaprosthesis, extensively used in India and other Asian and African nations. Additionally, he has popularized novel methods of biological reconstruction after oncologic resection. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (formerly JBJS [Br]), Bone & Joint-360, Bone & Joint Open, and Sarcoma. Prof. Puri has published numerous papers and book chapters, establishing himself as a leading authority in Orthopaedic Oncology. Prof. Wan Faisham is an orthopaedic oncology surgeon at Prince Court Medical Center, a prestigious oncology center in Malaysia. He previously served as a professor and consultant surgeon at Universiti Sains Malaysia and is renowned as one of the pioneers of limb salvage surgery for orthopaedic cancer. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous clinical research endeavors and multidisciplinary collaborations in oncology. For his significant contributions to the field, Prof. Faisham has been honored with five distinguished awards and appointed as the International Advisor to the Asian Pacific Musculoskeletal Oncology Society. He has authored over 100 research papers in medical journals and four textbooks related to his expertise. Currently, he is a leading figure in oncology applicable to sarcomas in Malaysia and is recognized as an orthopaedic oncology expert within ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region. Prof. Faisham is actively involved in training both national and international orthopaedic oncology fellows. His research interests primarily focus on survival and functional outcomes following surgery for orthopaedic cancer. Internationally, his surgical method utilizing allograft and vascularized tissue has been recognized as a trademark in the field.
