Dr Dorafshar has distinguished himself as an national and international leading expert in microvascular reconstruction and adult and pediatric craniofacial surgery for congenital, oncological or traumatic conditions. During his early career at Johns Hopkins, he helped to further develop the fields of craniofacial microsurgery, virtual surgical planning in craniofacial surgery and bone tissue engineering. He has co-authored more than 140 indexed articles, written several book chapters and co-edited a textbook on facial trauma surgery.
