Overview

Atheism is a social phenomenon that has existed for quite some time. It presents itself as the antithesis of theism. The version we see today stems from affluent male Europeans during the so-called 'Enlightenment' period who challenged Catholicism and those Protestant denominations that had separated from the Catholic faith. Many of the ideas from this period are being recycled today by the so-called 'New Atheism' movement. These ideas have found appeal among internet users and is spreading; causing some to lose faith or abandon organized religion altogether. This atheistic propaganda comes across as chic and convincing despite being based on misconceptions and fallacious conclusions. Sacerdotus is a former atheist, native of New York City (The Bronx). He is a blogger, author, and Radio Talk Show host on BlogTalkRadio: 'Sacerdotus Radio.' He holds degrees (AA, BA) in the sciences and philosophy from the City University of New York; is a member of honor societies and has studies in Theology, Sacred Scripture and the Catechism. He is a bibliophile, loves to write, plays piano, does research and engages in other activities. Why 'Sacerdotus?' He uses the pseudonym 'Sacerdotus' because it was used in the past to designate a minor order for those studying for the priesthood. A 'Sacerdotus' was a 'minor priest' or 'simple priest.' He prefers using this pseudonym out of humility just like 'Dr. Seuss' preferred to be referred to under that pseudonym so that his audience solely focused on his writing instead of himself. Sacerdotus has used his experience in atheism and his academic background in the sciences, philosophy and religion to counter the arguments and misconceptions from atheists both on and offline. He was a student of many well-known CUNY professors who are scientists and philosophers. As an avid debater, he has faced many atheists directly as well as other anti-Catholics. Many atheists such as amateur blogger Esther Harrison who blogs as 'Rosa Rubicondior, ' amateur writer Dan Arel, and amateur YouTube personality enthusiast David Viviano have been affrighted to engage him in an honest debate.
