A Quiet Masterpiece of Mercy and MysteryIn this book, you don't need to know who Julian of Norwich is to find yourself at home. But if you've ever longed for a God who meets you with mercy instead of judgment, or wondered whether Love could be the deepest truth beneath everything, then At the Still Point offers you a sacred place to begin. Through these poetic responses to Julian's mystical revelations, Ron Starbuck opens a door to her 14th-century vision with fresh language, contemplative grace, and a heart attuned to the soul's questions. While grounded in Christian mysticism, this book speaks across faith traditions-a quiet unfolding of divine mercy and Love that resonates with seekers of all kinds. In this luminous new collection, Starbuck doesn't so much interpret Julian of Norwich's mystical visions as sit beside them-listening, breathing, and answering in a voice as reverent as it is contemporary. These poems are not translations or commentary. They are something rarer: a contemplative response, a poetic companioning. Each ""Disclosure"" in this book unfolds like a prayer spoken into candlelight. Christ appears not as judge but as light. Sin is not the end of the story but a wound remembered by mercy, where your soul imagines our being as a holy city where God has never ceased to dwell. The beauty of this book is how quietly it does its work. There are no theological arguments, no grand declarations-only the slow, sacred turning of language toward God. Like Julian before him, Starbuck dares to write from a place of Love that is not naïve but hard-won-rooted in suffering, seasoned by silence, and opened to joy.You won't rush through these pages. Nor should you. They are best read slowly, maybe even aloud, with room for the Spirit to speak between the lines. This is poetry as practice. As presence. As prayer.Let these words accompany you in seasons of longing, in moments of stillness, or when the world feels too loud to hold what's holy. They will remind you, again and again, that Love is the meaning. And Christ-our Mother, healer, and companion-is with you still.-Saint Julian Press 2025
