At the Heart of the Union: Studies of the European Commission

Overview

The European Commission is very much at the heart of the European Union. Its large number of responsibilities and variety of roles make it the institution which is most readily identified with the Union's many different activities. Aiming to make a contribution to furthering understandings of the Commission, this book brings together a broad range of different perspectives, looking at all aspects from recruitment to policy making, from the Commission's history to its future prospects.

At a time when reform of EU institutions is high on the EU agenda, such a high quality and detailed examination of the Commission is very welcome indeed...'. - John Redmond, Political Studies 'It is a treasure-trove of essays on all aspects of the Commission... this is an excellent book...'.
