Assignment Yggdrasil: Democracy... By Any Means

Overview

"Description In the plot of this social science fiction novel, the date is 2006 and the United States Department of Defense performs a clandestine special operation that involves biotechnological experimentation on the American citizenry. The purpose is to defend democracy against a terrorist plan to use powerful bioweaponry to destroy America. The complex and diverse characters include [ an impulsive but intellectual dominatrix, of Luxembourgian ethnicity, who was salutatorian of her university class; [ a refugee and involuntary psychiatric patient of South African nativity; [ a computer scientist, of Russian ethnicity, who idolizes Victor Frankenstein and Joseph Stalin; [ a precocious American military officer, with an exemption to ""Don't Ask, Don't Tell""; [ a poor, preteen boy with an attention deficit and a conflict with the medical system; [ and an educational superintendent from the People's Republic of China, who achieved the American dream, but will soon encounter the biotic undead. Because of the interception of these characters amidst Assignment Yggdrasil, they will question aspects of war, psychiatry, medicine, democracy, and polity, while receiving an informal education in biotechnology. Like Michael Crichton's work, this narrative will again give science fiction scientific and philosophical relevance to actuality. About the Author Chris Dubey is a multiracial, gay, transgender, neuroatypical philosopher and writer, who also has experience with depression and psychiatry. Despite the challenges of those conditions, Chris is a successful academic. Chris earned a baccalaureate, magna cum laude, from the University of Hartford in 2005, with majors in English and philosophy and an emphasis in creative writing. Chris is a winner of two instances of the Phyllis B. Abrahms Poetry Award (2002, 2003), two instances of the Phyllis B.
