Overview

The Ascendent Academy has fallen, but Nathan's journey is just beginning. He has a mission--to journey across Davrar to find Sarya Pamaris, a friendly Questor who can begin to answer his questions. Hopefully she will reveal to him the secrets of the Endings, and how to stop them. On the way, Nathan and his friends must contend with the remnants of Giantsrest, the catspaws of Questors and above all the terrifying dangers of Davrar itself. They have risen to the level of the elites, and that means those threats have noticed them. Because on Davrar, Nathan is sure of one thing. There's always another danger over the horizon.

Alexander Olson first knew he wanted to be a scientist when his dad taught him how to capture hydrogen gas with foil, batteries, and water. He grew up in Colorado, got his bachelors in chemistry and biology from a small engineering school in Southern California and his PhD in biochemistry from a larger school in Boston. Now he works full-time in science, the closest thing to magic he can achieve in this world. His love of magic came from escaping into fantastical stories as a child, where he could explore worlds that stretch to the limits of imagination. He first delved into creating his own stories by running multiple tabletop roleplaying games. Eventually he decided to write the story he wanted to read.
