OverviewVolume 12A is an atlas comprised of more than 1,700 fractographs divided into metallic and nonmetallic sections of 25 and 5 material categories, respectively. The metallic section is comprised of cast irons, pure irons, carbon and alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, maraging steels, superalloys, nonferrous alloys—nickel, cobalt, aluminum, copper, titanium, magnesium, zinc—and metal-matrix composites. Polymers, polymer-matrix composites, ceramics, and cemented carbides comprise the nonmetallic section. Within each material category, the fractographs are arranged by four main failure mechanisms: overload, fatigue, stress-corrosion cracking, and embrittlement, if available. The fractographs show the morphology of fracture surfaces at different length scales and identify markers and patterns that shed light on how and why fractures occur. The presentation of fractographs assists readers in recognizing the characteristic features of different types of fracture, and the potential role of material microstructures and imperfections in fractures. Volume 12A, Atlas of Fractographs, is a companion to Volume 12, Fractography. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Craig J. Schroeder , Ronald J. Parrington , Joseph O. Maciejewski , James F.
