Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus introduces the ASK method of prayer. He tells his disciples: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened . Jesus's words tell us to take action. He encourages us to be proactive in prayer, and not to passively tell God our problems and hope He works them out. We are to ASK specific questions, SEEK God's wisdom and counsel, and KNOCK on the door of opportunities that He presents us. In this way, Jesus outlines a plan to follow so that we may actively pray to God for guidance and resolution. This method helps us take ownership of our concerns and encourages us to follow God, seeking and learning from His wisdom and recognizing the opportunities He presents to us. This journal is based on this ASK method. It provides over three months' worth of pages to use when you seek specific guidance from God. The different sections, Ask, Seek, and Knock, will guide you through each step of the prayer process and give you space to record your questions, ways of seeking God's wisdom, and opportunities.
