Flavia de Luce vive en una oscura mansión y tiene una familia poco común: dos hermanas que la odian y un padre a quien le interesa más la filatelia que lo que ocurra en su casa. Flavia de Luce lives in a dark mansion and has an unusual family: two sisters who hate her and a father who is more interested in philately than what happens in his house. Fortunately she has two allies: her bicycle Gladys and the chemistry laboratory in which she enjoys her curious fondness for poisons while planning revenge against her sisters. When Flavia finds a dead bird on her doorstep and a man about to die, she won't hesitate to dive right into the investigation, proving that an eleven-year-old girl can also solve mysteries that others would like to bury.
