Overview

The promise: a televised cooking competition with a twist. Most reality shows film the contest first and then edit the footage to tell the most compelling story possible. On As It Happens, each day viewers at home are served what happened within the last 24 hours. Even the producers don't know how the story will end. The problem: on the first night of shooting, there's an incident that could have been an accident but might have been a crime. And none of the 18 TV cameras, dozens of motion-activated recording devices, and more than 200 cast and crew saw a thing. Detective Inspector Ian McLean of Scotland Yard has to solve the mystery while half the country watches, every night, as the story unfolds in real time.
