Prof Vijayalakshmi Kakulapati is a professor in the Department of Information Technology at the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, India. She has a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India, and did postdoctoral research on AI-driven COVID-19 diagnosis at Srinivas University, India. She has edited 14 books, more than 50 book chapters, and more than 250 scholarly articles. She has worked in both academia and industry for more than 28 years. Prof Kakulapati has 10 patents and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and other important professional groups. Her areas of study include Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Health Informatics, and Artificial Intelligence. She also works as a reviewer and on editorial boards for several international journals. She has also received more than 16 awards from various organisations.
