OverviewLaura Haynie is an award-winning clothing and embroidery designer, acclaimed instructor, former top 5 in dealer sales for Bernina, and head of education for Pfaff U.S. ( two of the most highly regarded European sewing machine companies in the world). She produced an educational video series for Pfaff under the auspices of Purdue University. Laura was one of only ten U.S. instructors invited to Switzerland by the Passap Knitting Machine Company for training. She was a technical adviser for America Quilts Creatively, a guest artist on that program, and Martha's Sewing Room (both by PBS). Laura Haynie is honored to teach in the College of Human Sciences, Department of Design for Texas Tech University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Textiles with a Minor in Psychology. Her professor, Dr. Gene Sheldon gave Laura her first publishing opportunity: fashion illustration for a draping textbook. Since then her work has been published in the U.S., Europe and Australia. She lives in Lubbock, Texas with the love of her life: Jim Haynie. They have a daughter Jessica Leigh who resides in Brooklyn N.Y.
