He earned his MD title at the University of Medicine – Bucharest (1985), in the USA (1994) and in Italy (1998). He completed cardiovascular surgery fellowships at “San Donato” and at “Niguarda” Cardiac Centers in Milan, Italy and at “The Advanced Cardiovascular Institute” in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Dr Muresian is appointed as head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic at the University Hospital of Bucharest. Dr Muresian’s surgical interests comprise the new techniques in coronary surgery, valvular plasty, the use of homo- and autografts, the surgery of aortic aneurysms, the surgical therapy of cerebro-vascular diseases (including revascularization of the vertebro-basilar system) and limb-salvage vascular and hybrid procedures. Since his medical student years, Dr Muresian has been continuously involved in research activity, particularly regarding the anatomy and embryology of thecardiovascular and of the central nervous systems. Dr Muresian has elaborated or co-authored over 100 scientific works and publications being also well-known for his special expertise in medical photography.
