Overview

The established cultural sector is facing a paradigm shift. At the center of this change is the demand to do justice to the diversity of the population. The handbook opens up strategies for implementing art practices that are critical of discrimination, and for reaching new dialogue groups. Successes in partnerships with unequal cultural institutions are analyzed, and concrete strategies for action are shown on the basis of eleven documented productions. Starting point are the insights from the artistic practice in Brunnenpassage Vienna, founded in 2007. The handbook sets practice-relevant impulses for cultural workers, artists, and cultural policy-makers.

Ivana Pilic ist Kuratorin und Kulturwissenschaftlerin. Sie promoviert am Schwerpunkt Wissenschaft und Kunst der Universität Salzburg und des Mozarteums zu »diskriminierungskritischen Kunstpraxen«. Davor war sie Künstlerische Leiterin in der Brunnenpassage. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen in der Erforschung transkultureller Formate und der Entwicklung von diversitätskritischen Konzepten im Kulturbetrieb. Sie ist außerdem als Jurorin tätig u.a. im »Tandem Interkultur« der Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia und in Beiräten und Gremien aktiv, u.a. für die Europäische Kommission als Expertin für »Interkulturellen Dialog«. Anne Wiederhold-Daryanavard ist Schauspielerin, Organisationspsychologin, Mitgründerin und Künstlerische Leiterin der Wiener Brunnenpassage. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen in der Formatentwicklung transkultureller Kunst, im Bereich der sozial engagierten Kunst, Diversitätsentwicklung in der Kulturpolitik sowie im experimentellen und dokumentarischen Theater. Sie arbeitet als Jurorin sowie in Gremien u.a. für die Europäische Kommission als Expertin für Diversität im Kulturbetrieb. Seit 2020 ist sie Mitglied des Stiftungsbeirats des Volkstheaters Wien.
