Davis is a political activist, scholar, author and speaker. She is the author of several books, including Women, Race and Class and Are Prisons Obsolete? She is the subject of the acclaimed documentary Free Angela and All Political Prisoners and is Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Tschabalala Self Born 1990 in Harlem, USA, Tschabalala Self is a painter based in New Haven. She received her BA from Bard College and her MFA from the Yale School of Art. In 2018 she was the recipient of the Studio Museum Artist-in-Residency program, and in 2017 the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.
