OverviewThis is the second book in the series of 'The Life of Riley' who is an Australian Labradoodle living in Queensland's hinterland, Australia. The story is all about Riley's brothers and friends enjoying the last days of the summer holidays. They are around the swimming pool, having a picnic with their families and decide to have a relay race. However, there are two dogs that would love to swim but are just too afraid to go into the water on their own and always watch from the sidelines. They have been included in to the swim team and don't know what to do. They story is about friendship, bravery, being proud of yourself and having fun. The book is full of beautiful illustrations and would suit children ages 2-8 years. A fund bedtime story. Reviewed in Australia on 3 July 2023 This book is an adventure-packed story of Riley the pooch, the artistry is fabulous and the story flows very well. It's a great read for youngsters as it is easy to follow and the story is well thought out. The story also promotes a good metaphor for children to listen to their elders' words of wisdom. Looking forward to more adventures that highlight Riley's antics! 5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, rhyming, animal picture book Reviewed in Australia on 5 July 2023 My daughter and I loved reading about cute little Riley dog's night time adventures, especially because it rhymed. The story reminded me of the Hairy Maclary series, which we both adored. Can't wait to hear what mischief Riley gets up to next! 5.0 out of 5 stars Great story for bedtime. Beautiful illustrations. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2023 Lovely short story, easily readable with the ability to link the words to the wonderful illustrations. Happy ending and good night! Amazon Customer 5.0 out of 5 stars A favourite bedtime read Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 July 2023 Beautifully written and illustrated book. A regularly requested bedtime read for both of my children who adore listening to Riley's adventures. Great rhythm and rhyme that has kept them both engaged. We can't wait for the next instalment. 5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful story and illustrations Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2023 This is a delightful book for children from a very young age as the words are simple but enjoyable to read aloud as well. Younger children will enjoy the illustrations and the repetition of words and phrases that they can join in with if the book is read aloud. Older children will enjoy the story and the introduction of other animals from the Australian bush and the element of mild danger resolved in a happy and comforting way. This book I am sure will become a real favourite for adults and children alike.
