What began in the upstairs classrooms of Crystal Elementary School in Suisun City grew to the sprawling campus on Washington Street in order to serve the rising population of Fairfield, California. In 2006, Wade began writing for the Daily Republic, and in 2011, he became an ""accidental historian"" when he began writing his ""Back in the Day"" columns. Wade's first book, Growing Up in Fairfield, California, was published in 2021, and his second, Lost Restaurants of Fairfield, California, was published in 2022.
