OverviewThis book presents applied research that demonstrates how automation with Arduino can transform hydroponic green fodder production. Through the use of Open Source technology (both hardware and free software), agricultural and technological disciplines are integrated to optimize the growth of cereal and legume seeds in controlled environments, generating high quality forage for small and large animals. Through an experimental system based on forage trays, appropriate nutrient solutions and corn seeds, it is shown that automation allows a more efficient use of space, water and resources. The results show significant increases in growth and forage weight, with improvements of more than 5% in height and more than 10% in biomass compared to traditional methods. An essential work for producers, students and enthusiasts seeking to modernize and enhance forage production through accessible and open source technologies.
