Kim Marie Theilman was Kim Freeman for the first fifty-one years of her life. Born in Pittsfield, MA, at three her family relocated to Schenectady, NY. From an early age, Kim exhibited a keen curiosity and a passion for learning, traits that would later define her career choices. Kim pursued her education with unwavering dedication, excelling in both academic and extracurricular activities. Her journey began at the local school, where she quickly became known for her intellectual prowess and kindness. Kim graduated from Niskayuna High School as the first young woman to receive a letter in wrestling. She earned a degree in political science, which fascinated her greatly, from SUNY Albany. Upon completing her education, Kim worked in New York State Senator Hugh Farley's office for several years. From there, Kim began a career in public relations which ended abruptly on 9/11. The devastating toll that event took on so many lives and businesses created scarcity of employment in her chosen field. Kim began a new career becoming a successful and respected kitchen designer.Beyond her professional achievements, Kim led a fulfilling personal life. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support from friends and family. Kim's primary hobby was curling, which began in her early teens at the Schenectady Curling Club. Her love of the sport moved beyond her home club. Kim curled throughout New York and New Jersey for many years. Kim eventually joined the Margurita Curling Club, an international club, where she made many close friends. Kim became the first woman president, in 128 years, of the Grand National Curling Club (1995-97) and served on its board for six years. Subsequently, Kim maintained contact and friendships with curlers all over the world. Kim eventually convinced her husband to become a curler and join her for a tournament in Dumfries Scotland, where she introduced him to this special group of friends. Tom was a better curler than she could have hoped for, and their team placed 10th out of over 60 seasoned teams. They both believed in giving back and often participated in charitable activities, making a difference in the lives of many.Kim had no plans to become an author. However, Tom knew she loved research and had been tracing her ancestry for years as a self-appointed family historian. His encouragement and support culminated in four years of research and travel bringing this book to life. Kim hoped her readers would enjoy the results of her journey into the past as much as she enjoyed telling the story of her uncle, Archie O'Neill the world's greatest one-legged dancer.Kim's legacy is one of inspiration and excellence. She left an indelible mark on her professions and the hearts of those who knew her.
