Overview

Archaeologies of the Contemporary Past turns what is usually seen as a method for investigating the distant past onto the present. In doing so, it reveals fresh ways of looking at both ourselves and modern society as well as the discipline of archaeology. The contributions to this volume represent the most recent research in this area. The authors...have contributed a set of case studies that are well written, persuasive, and provocative, including the editors' unusually skillful and sometimes brilliant connecting pieces between very clear subdivisions of the book.
-Journal of Anthropological Research
