Reviews

[A] tangled, high stakes read * the i * London before the blitz is superbly evoked, as is Paris before the German invasion but it is Miss Fry's indomitable character and ingenuity that shine through * Daily Mail * After their riveting debut in Vienna, Fox and Fry are back in compelling fashion to navigate their way through a shadowy world of espionage and murder. Danger and secrecy lurk in every page of this classy novel -- ALEX GERLIS, author of EVERY SPY A TRAITOR Suspenseful, romantic, atmospheric and clever . . . Thynne's storytelling is hugely enjoyable escapism -- AMANDA CRAIG, author of THE THREE GRACES Deeply researched but lightly told, this book had me on the edge of my seat. Absolutely cracking stuff -- CLARE MULLEY, author of AGENT ZO As stylish, clever and gripping as ever, Thynne possesses the enviable ability both to enmesh the reader in her story and to deepen their knowledge of the historical context. Terrific -- ELIZABETH BUCHAN, author of BONJOUR, SOPHIE A brilliant and authentic espionage novel that explores the secret operations conducted at Trent Park during World War II. Jane Thynne has produced an adroitly executed and compelling novel that deserves a huge following -- HENRY PORTER, author of THE ENIGMA GIRL It's heaven to be reunited with Fox and Fry. Elegant, evocative and funny, this is Thynne's best yet -- SABINE DURRANT, author of LIE WITH ME Compulsive and atmospheric, this novel is an enormous treat that combines a touch of John le Carré with the intelligent charm of Muriel Spark -- SALLY EMERSON, author of PERFECT I'm utterly addicted to Thynne's cinematic writing and taut plotting -- YSENDA MAXTONE GRAHAM, author of JOBS FOR THE GIRLS Appointment in Paris builds on the triumph of Midnight in Vienna - establishing Fox and Fry as a gloriously fascinating pair of crusaders against the forces of darkness . . . Thynne's historical knowledge, sense of atmosphere, thrilling plotting and seductive characterisation combine to make Appointment in Paris a must read - easily as good as Robert Harris but with more soul -- BEL MOONEY Evocative in its period detail and gripping in its narrative drive, this is a highly enjoyable novel * The Times on MIDNIGHT IN VIENNA * The action moves between the elegance of Vienna and the paranoia of London with consummate readability. Gripping and surprising * Observer on MIDNIGHT IN VIENNA * All the key characters are sharply drawn in this very enjoyable tale * Financial Times on MIDNIGHT IN VIENNA * A beautifully crafted historical thriller with charismatic main characters from a gifted writer. More Fox and Fry tales please * Irish Independent on MIDNIGHT IN VIENNA *
