Reviews

Self-study grammar reference book for Intermediate/Advanced learners of Welsh. Aimed at learners who often find formal grammar books difficult to follow because of the complicated terminology, it makes everything clear at a glance with the same ingenious, easy-to-understand colour-coding as the author’s extremely popular D.I.Y. Welsh. The book looks into why the patterns of Welsh differ so significantly in places from English and many other European languages, focusing on the structures in standard written Welsh, which has more consistent patterns than informal spoken Welsh. While primarily intended for learners moving on from D.I.Y. Welsh, the book will also be useful for fluent or native Welsh speakers who lack confidence when it comes to formal grammar. -- Publisher: Y Lolfa
