P. Venkata Ramana holds M.Com from Sri. Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi; M.L.I.Sc., from University of Madras, Chennai and has also done PGDCA from Hyderabad. He did Ph.D. from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He is working as Associate Professor and Head, Library and Information Center at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. He has rich professional experience of 30 years as Librarian in different libraries of various institutions. He has published more than 35 research papers in journals, conference proceedings and books. His areas of interest include library automation, Internet, web technologies and information and communication technology applications in libraries. He has attended several training courses on Information Technology Applications in Libraries at National and International Institutions. He has delivered more than 30 invited lectures on IT applications in Libraries, Internet and other related areas in training course, workshops, seminars etc in different institutions/universities in the country.
