Overview

I wrote nearly all of the poems in this collection as a member of the Poetry Club in The Villages, Florida. Most of the poems are based on prompts provided by our club leader. They cover a broad range of subjects and poetic forms. Some are serious, some are humorous, some deal with contemporary or past events, a few are personal, most are impersonal. The majority are written in fixed forms, a few in free verse. Poems in the Appetizers section are mostly humorous and light in tone, poems in the Entrées section are more serious in theme. The Leftovers section contains poems that I wanted to share, but did not fit clearly into the earlier sections. An end glossary contains a list of the various poetic forms along with their description.
