OverviewOur Antique Botanical Art Sketchbooks are unique in the fact that they not only offer the purchaser 8 x 10 antique reprints of early botanical prints but we also provide companion 8 x 10 black & white sketches of the original so you can create your own personal pieces of artwork. This 81 page book exhibits some of the circa 1829 work of John Lindley, who was Professor of Botany at the University of London at the time he created these colored drawings for 'Edwards Botanical Register'. We think he would be both surprised and pleased that the artwork he created almost 190 years ago was still being viewed and appreciated. The original prints on the left have been reprinted in their as found condition. Due to their advanced age it is expected that there be evidence of exposure to the environment over time. We have cleaned up and removed water spots, etc. from the black & white sketches on the right. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationCarol Mennig discovered her love of botanical art during her years as co-owner of two successful upscale antiques businesses in Connecticut. She acquired antique botanical books and prints whenever she could find them and kept up her interest when she semi-retired to Florida in 2001. She became involved in web and graphic design and created websites for businesses throughout the country and in the UK. She now concentrates solely on botanical art - both antique and her own. In 2010 she started creating her own colorful botanical art with inspiration from early artists such as Pierre Bulliard (1776), Carrington Bowles (1777), John Edwards (1775) and John Lindley (1829). To date she has created over 100 designs that are sold online and in select stores as framed prints and imprints on canvas. Carol resides in Sebastian, FL with her husband John and two much loved dogs - a Golden Retriever girl named Dakota and a Great Pyrenees boy named Max.
