Overview

'These are poems which often explore the dark side: crimes of violence, the allure of greed and power, the sufferings of loss and innocence, the chilling effects of chaos and uncertainty, yet this is tempered by a playfulness of language and a formal mastery that make the poems a pleasure to read. The charm of this book is the interplay between the what and the how, between the ability of language to explicate tragedy and drama and yet to keep true to the structures and musicality of words at their best. These poems will give you both goosebumps and delight. A fine debut collection.' Judith Beveridge
