Another Kind of Fire is the story of Jake Luria and of his brilliant, broken family of scholars, industrialists, and spiritual seekers. When Jake's sister has a psychological crisis, Jake is pulled away from his own professional struggles to investigate the cause. Jake uncovers generations of accumulated wounds as he digs into the secrets of his family history. Terrified of losing his family, unsure how he can accept them, and convinced he is inadequate to the heavy demands that have been placed on him, Jake fights for his family's survival and his own. Jason Z. Morris is a professor of biology in the Department of Natural Sciences at Fordham University. He lives in New Rochelle with his wife, and he has two adult children. Another Kind of Fire is is second novel. His first novel is Thicker Than Mud.
